Emergency course or the full course?
The law does not name a course. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require an employer to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and people so that employees can be given first aid, and HSE's first aid needs assessment is how an employer decides what that means for its own workplace. A low-hazard office often finds the one-day course enough; a higher-hazard site, or a large workforce, points to the three-day First Aid at Work course.

Certificates from either course last three years, so the choice also decides what you rebook in three years' time.
